Q&A with Caroline Pélissier, our founder.

Discover how Racyne came to life and explore the inspirations behind its founder, Caroline.

What was the spark that created Racyne?

Six years within major fragrance houses taught me everything about the industry, but it also left me longing for something deeper. In our fast-paced, digital world, perfume had become a product rather than an experience. I wanted to strip away the artifice, the retouched muses and the clichés of seduction, to find the "essence" again.

Racyne is a quest for intention. It’s about creating a sensory ritual that helps us ground ourselves in the present. I’ve worked alongside incredible experts to ensure that every bottle is as ethical as it is beautiful: sustainable and overflowing with exceptional natural raw materials. It's perfumery for the real life.

Your favorite perfume?

Complicated to say because I choose them according to my mood and my schedule for the day. For example, I will wear Verdeur in the mornings when I feel a need for energy and green, rather Garden Song for softness and comfort and often La Terre, La Nuit when I am in a more mysterious mood. When I'm at home reading on Sundays, I like Somewhere that brings back precious memories...

What is your connection with nature?

It’s an inheritance, but above all, a way of being present in the world. I grew up in Paris, immersed in art and culture, shaped by my mother’s influence: a deep respect for raw materials, a love for nature, the integrity of the geste juste, and the quiet necessity of choosing less, but better.

My roots are also anchored in the landscapes of Périgord, Forez, and Cotentin. These lands have forged my sensibility and my worldview. It’s an inspiration that lives in dialogue with art, literature, and design. With Racyne, I sought to write all of this into the scent itself: something subtle, elegant, and textured.

I have always felt a profound sense of wonder toward the world; beauty is woven into the everyday, if only we take a moment to look. Through Racyne, I am simply continuing to nurture this bond and inviting that same beauty into our lives.
